Building a Country Together
Our annual Crusade Summer Experience program for high school students is in full swing at Brown University! Yesterday we caught up with a group of 26 Crusaders participating in a day focused on culture and diversity. In warm-up exercises, they shared their cultural experiences and backgrounds and learned how to avoid stereotyping others. Then they divided into four teams for an activity called Create a Culture. The members of each team worked together to combine aspects of their individual diversities to invent a country. They named their country, designed and drew a flag with symbols to represent its beliefs and values, and wrote a slogan. Then each team presented their country to the entire group and explained how they created it. During the afternoon, they staged a Cultural Olympics on the Brown campus, competing in games of skill, collaboration, and learning.

Over 100 Crusaders signed up for Crusade Summer Experience this year. The program continues weekly till August 7.
