Walkathon Raises $2,500 for Children
On June 24, students from the High School Crusade Advisory Board delivered a check for $2,500 to The Tomorrow Fund, which provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families receiving treatment at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. The High School CAB raised the funds as a community service project by sponsoring a walkathon that involved students from 16 high schools throughout Central Falls, Pawtucket, Providence, and Woonsocket.
The CAB members presented the check in person to Barbara Ducharme, Executive Director, and Lisa Cantore, Child Life Specialist. They also toured the new Tomorrow Fund clinic and learned about the services it provides for young hematology and oncology patients and their families.
Congratulations and thanks to all the students in our dedicated High School CAB this year for creating such a successful community service project!
