How can you make yourself the best you can be? Over 80 Crusaders who attended our High School Career Conference during February school vacation week got some real answers to that question. They participated in customized career workshops in Business; Health & Medicine; Education, Law & Human Services; and Science, Technology & Engineering. They also attended two big workshops in Financial Literacy. Best of all, they got firsthand tips and advice from seven career professionals, who made the time to come and talk personally with Crusaders about college and work experiences.

Thanks so much to our career speakers! They included Manny Barrows, vice president, BankRI, and Andy Liss, investment adviser, Independence Financial Partners, plus the following individuals from the Rhode Island Young Professionals: Darrell Thorpe, program manager for diversity at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI; Melissa Husband, supportive services program coordinator for Rhode Island Housing; Den Soch, current president of the RI Young Professionals; Junior Jabbie, sales & marketing manager at Banneker Industries; and Monsurat Ottun, program assistant for New Roots Providence.

Thanks also to the Providence Academy of International Studies for hosting our conference during vacation week!
