Crusaders Come Back to Teach

A group of successful former Crusaders spent six weeks teaching study skills to 6th and 9th graders in our Ways to A’s program this summer! Pictured here with site coordinator Adam Tarczuk (back row, second from left), they are Marianella Solano, Kathy Toro, Tiffany Hooks, Gladys Vasquez, Diony Garcia, and Lisette Gomes (front row); Harry Moore, Thomas Evans, Sami Assad, and Casby Harrison (back row). Missing from the picture is Chereva McClellan.

As recent graduates or current students at the University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, Northeastern University, Roger Williams University, and Brown University, these 11 young people inspired hundreds of young Crusaders during July and August. They helped their students learn new skills in active listening, note taking, reading, writing, memorizing, test taking, and time management, and showed personally how hard work and determination really pay off! Reporter Nandini Jayakrishna from The Providence Journal visited Ways to A’s and wrote a story that included comments from students and instructors.
